An influx of 71 new hungry beagles prompted a call for help from the Lehigh County Humane Society for food, bedding, cleaning supplies and cash for medical bills. The community rose to the occasion, so far donating thousands of pounds of dog food and more than $9,700 in cash on Facebook.

When Elon Musk, embattled CEO of Tesla, needed help getting hundreds of Model 3 cars to customers in the Pacific Northwest, he turned to someone he'd never met: Matt Moreno.
