A man likely drowned in the Columbia River after jumping from a boat to help a woman who was struggling in the water, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said.
Kevin McDowell, a Portland resident, reportedly jumped from a boat into the Columbia River, near the west end of Lemon Island, to help a woman in the water that was having a difficult time trying to swim.
A 19-year-old was charged in connection to a May 29, 2022 shooting in River North.
