Napa County saw the highest percentage population gain in the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area last year, according to new data released by the state. Four other Bay Area counties saw population growth in 2023: Contra Costa, San Francisco, Solano and Santa Clara. Meanwhile, Alameda, Marin, San Mateo and Sonoma saw losses.
