  • Overturned crane shuts down major Livingston Parish road

    DENHAM SPRINGS - A major roadway in Livingston Parish was shut down for hours as crews removed an overturned crane. The crane overturned in a ditch at Buddy Ellis Road and John L Lane.The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said the road would be closed for an extended period of time while the crane is removed, and the road re-opened Thursday evening.Permalink| Comments
  • One killed in Tangipahoa Parish crash Wednesday morning

    KENTWOOD - One person died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, according to the Louisiana State Police.According to police, Samuel Raborn, 70, of Kentwood, died after his car traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment on LA Hwy 1057 near Pittman Road in Tangipahoa Parish.Raborn sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene.Permalink| Comments

    Three parish baseball teams have moved on to the second round of the LHSAA baseball playoffs. All three teams will be playing at home starting Friday. Vermilion Catholic, Erath, and North Vermilion all received first-round byes. Their second-round games are all at home. The second round of games will be a three-game series for North Vermilion and Erath. VC is only one game. Lakeshore at Erath The No. 4 Erath Bobcats (23-7) entertain No. 20 Lakeshore (14-17).
