University of Richmond moving from CAA to Patriot League for football next year
The Spiders are coming two successful seasons in the CAA in which they were 8-3 overall in the regular season and made the FCS playoffs, losing in the second round both times. With five CAA championships, the Spiders are the conference's second-most decorated football team behind James Madison University, which now plays in the Sun Belt in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the highest level of college football.
