No.5 seed Liudmila Samsonova overcame 2021 champion Barbora Krejcikova in three sets in the first round of the Internationaux de Strasbourg, recovering after losing a 5-2 lead (and her first match point at 5-4) in the second set. Samsonova improved to 3-1 overall against Krejcikova.
