Heavy rain leads to flooding and closed roads in southeast Texas
Torrential rain caused flooding Thursday in southeastern Texas and officials in one county were asking residents to leave. A storm system dumped heavy rain in Montgomery County, on the northern edge of Harris County and Houston. Officials in Montgomery County issued a voluntary evacuation order and said roads were closed because of flooding along the San Jacinto River.

HOUSTON (KIAH) -- Some rain gauges top 10 inches as persistent intense rain and thunderstorms pound areas north of Harris County. Heavy rain and Flash Flood Warnings are in effect Thursday morning. Rain from some of those thunderstorms will drift over Houston later Thursday with rain falling in our area through later Thursday. CW39 chief meteorologist Adam Krueger tells us more.
