Stepdad jailed for beating Wakefield child for not finishing his dinner
Leeds Crown Court heard that the the 34-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect the boy’s identity, would join in with the mother in striking the toddler for not eating his dinner or tidying up his toys. The couple subjected the boy to "excessive force", leaving him with purple bruising to his upper legs. They were both found guilty of child cruelty after a seven-day trial. Valerie Teale was reported missing from her home at Walton last night (April 26) and a number of enquiries have been ongoing to locate her. She is described as 5ft 4ins to 5ft 5ins tall with grey hair. Commuters have been warned that trains could be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
