CenterPoint expects some Houston-area power outages to extend into weekend

As of mid-afternoon Wednesday, the electricity company said about 92% of the 922,000 customers that lost power during last Thursday's deadly storm had their service restored. Nearly 60,000 remained without electricity.

As of 9 p.m. Tuesday, power had been restored more than 840,000, or 90 percent of customers who were impacted by last week's destructive weather, according to the company.
