Express to close two Bay Area stores following bankruptcy filing

Express, a modern casual clothing retailer once considered a staple in American malls, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company plans to close most of its stores, including two in the Bay Area. Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Ohio, Express announced Monday its intention to shut down 95 stores nationwide. The closures will include its outlets at Bay Street in Emeryville and Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara. Sixteen Express stores are slated for closure across California....
